PURSUE Release 01: records and evidence limits
What the first release contains
The catalog combines historical government records with more recent reporting and imagery. It is not limited to incidents from 2018–2025. Use the incident date, agency and file type for each asset before grouping the material.Catalog asset or identifierCatalog contextResearch use331_120752_Numeric_Files_1944–1945_37153_German_Armament_Equipment_DocumentsDepartment of War; incident date 18 March 1945; Germany.Historical documentation; inspect the original file before attributing an explanation.342_HS1-416511228_319.1 Flying Discs 1949Department of War; catalog date 9 January 1950.Compare the title’s historical year with the catalog date.38_143685_Box7_Incident_Summaries_1-100Department of War; incident date and location not supplied in the listing.A collection of summaries is not necessarily one case or a complete investigation.FBI September 2023 Sighting - Serial 003VIRIN 260508-O-D0360-1054.Witness interview; distinguish reported observations from independently established findings.FBI September 2023 Sighting - Composite SketchVIRIN 260508-O-D0360-1053.A site photograph with a graphic overlay, not a direct object photograph.Search the exact titles or identifiers in R01. What the release cannot establish by itself
A publication does not authenticate every witness description, identify an object’s origin or demonstrate that every record was previously unavailable. Read the underlying record, its provenance and the supporting measurements. The catalog does not support the earlier article’s numerical classification of 143 resolved files, its drone/balloon/bird breakdown or its unsupported case narratives. No replacement statistics are offered without a reproducible file-level analysis.
How to research the corpus
- Select R01 and note the current count and consultation date.
- Download originals using the step-by-step download guide.
- Build a manifest with filename, agency, incident date, publication date, file type and page references.
- Keep source descriptions, witness statements and your interpretation in separate columns.
- Compare broader claims with the Immaculate Constellation record analysis only after checking the relevant original documents.
Other releases and archival routes
The portal contains subsequent tranches. Our Release 05 guide covers a different subset. NARA Record Group 615 is a separate archival discovery route.
Files, cases and publication dates
A catalog asset can contain multiple records or summaries. A publication date indicates when the portal released the asset; it is different from the date of the event described. A filename is a discovery aid, not an independent finding about an object.
FAQs
How many R01 files are listed?
The selected R01 catalog showed 158 files on 7 October 2026. Check the portal again before citing a current count.
Does release mean proof of an extraordinary origin?
No. Assess each record and its underlying evidence separately.
Are all assets new or fully unredacted?
Do not assume this from publication alone. Compare the original file, prior availability and visible redactions.
Conclusions and Key Takeaways
Use identifiable originals and page references to make your analysis reproducible. This article does not provide an independently validated resolved/unresolved case tally.
Correction and source check
Correction, 7 October 2026: The earlier title and body used 162 documents and included unsupported case totals, quotations and a claimed complete review. This version reports the checked R01 catalog count and provides identifiable records with explicit evidence limits.
